The MacDowell Music Club of Canton celebrates 107 years of promoting music.  We bring you cultural information, support young musicians through college scholarships and performance opportunities, present “Informances” and programs free to the public, and we encourage Music For Life!

2015 Scholarship Winners

            The MacDowell Club Scholarship Chair Mark Thewes announces winners of the 2015 scholarships, awarded to graduating high school students who will enter college this fall and major in music:
            Madison Smith, flute, graduate of Perry HS. Will attend Ohio State U. for a Bachelors of Music degree. She was awarded the LELA COPE Scholarship of $1,000.00
            Kevin Walters, voice, graduate of Jackson HS. Will attend Akron U. for a Bachelors of Music Education degree. He was awarded the Ethel Pritz Scholarship of $1,000.00
            Liana Westerman, flute and cello, graduate of Hoover HS. Will attend Baldwin-Wallace U. for a Bachelors of Music degree. She was awarded a MacDowell Scholarship of $1,000.00 and the Gladys Lazarus Scholarship of $1,000.00
            Ryan Miles, piano, graduate of Alliance HS. Will attend Kent State U. for a Bachelors of Music degree. He was awarded the Allan- Marker- Rich Scholarship of $1,000.00
